Not every word in the English language rhymes, and here are just some examples of words that don’t.
Walrus
If you’re writing an ode to anything maritime, mention whales, fish, sharks, and seals, but just not walruses.
Rhythm
There’s a reason why they call it “Rhythm and Blues,” instead of “Blues and Rhythm” and it’s probably because nothing rhymes with rhythm.
Husband
So many words rhyme with “wife”, but what about “husband”? There are none, actually.
Woman
Shakespeare always came up with a work-around for the fact that nothing rhymes with woman. For example, he would compare his woman to a “summer’s day”.
Purple
There are a few words that almost rhyme with “purple,” but nothing perfectly. This is why the poem should remain: “Roses are red, violets are blue.”
